TA’Quan Zimmerman Elite 20 Invitational

The Elite 20 brought together some of the best girls and boys players from across the country, along with some of the top unknown talent in New England

Ella Peper, the number four player in the 2028 class out of Dexter, showcased her ability to shoot off the dribble and get in the lane.

She dominated on both ends

Another player with a great game but little fame is Izzy Adams, a 2026 guard who also attends Dexter. She took home the MVP with a great performance.

A phenomenal shooter and floor general

She hit 6 threes and a couple of amazing, as well as flashy. She finished the game with 24 points and 5 rebounds. She was one of a couple of unranked players on the court, but showed quickly that she can play with anyone on any level.

The girls’ game was competitive, but saw team Streeter come out on top over team Dixon 89-52.

The boys game got crazy Quick!

For the boys’ side, Team Tharpe took down Team Mitchell 98-95. We saw some great talent in this game, too. Top-ranked guard Taylen Kinney came to put on a show in the first quarter.

Scoring 20 of the team’s 31 in the first quarter

Some other players who made an impression were Abdou Toure and Josh Rivera, two long and athletic wings with a good feel for the game. Toure is a great athlete who showcased his abilities all game. He does need to touch up on his skills a his game develops.

To be honest, he is also a great player and can defend positions 1 through 3 at a high level.

However, Josh is the more polished of the two. He is capable of shooting well both off the dribble and from the catch. Additionally, he excels as a scorer in pick-and-roll situations.

Overall the Elite 20 was a great event with some of the top talent and also some hidden gems.

I am looking forward to attending this event for years to come!!
